The Era of Bulldozer Swaps
A new trend was emerging. Large organizations began replacing all their IT equipment at once. Dell and HP rose to prominence with their direct sales models—and the old equipment needed to be taken care of. By assigning value to the used devices, it became easier to sell in the new ones. Partnerships were formed, and massive “bulldozer swaps” were carried out efficiently and at scale.
Inrego set up an on-site reuse operation at Volvo in Gothenburg when 24,000 monitors were replaced in one go. A European logistics network was built when Electrolux upgraded its IT across 90 cities in 30 countries simultaneously. Inrego adapted—and delivered. The Swedish Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen) went even further, setting an entirely new standard for efficient IT management.
The best innovations happen in close collaboration with customers.
