The market for second-hand IT products continues to grow rapidly. During the first half of 2025, circular IT company Inrego increased sales by more than 20 percent compared to the same period in 2024. A clear sign that more and more businesses are turning to smarter solutions in a challenging economic climate.
This growth is driven by tighter budgets as well as an increasing supply of high-quality refurbished products. In the first six months alone, Inrego, one of the leading circular IT providers in the Nordics, sold over 31,000 refurbished IT products.
– “Companies are becoming much more price-conscious, and a refurbished computer often costs less than half the price of a new one, yet still delivers the same performance for everyday work,” says Mattias Aronsson, Sales Director at Inrego.
More and more organizations are questioning whether the latest model is truly necessary, as it often only offers minor updates that have little impact on everyday use. By choosing, for example, a refurbished HP EliteBook G8 instead of a newly produced G11, companies can save significantly without compromising on performance or security.
– “Refurbished has become the obvious choice for anyone looking to get more IT and sustainability for their money. Our products are thoroughly tested across more than 100 checkpoints — and often offer better quality than new,” Aronsson adds.
Inrego expects continued strong growth in the second-hand market throughout the rest of 2025 and is now investing in both capacity and digital services to meet the rising demand.
