Driving circular transformation in the electronics industry requires role models – and that’s exactly what the Inrego Circular Electronics Awards are all about. During Circular Electronics Day on January 24, the spotlight will shine on the leaders who paved the way for sustainable innovation in electronics.
Every year on January 24, Circular Electronics Day highlights the environmental challenges of e-waste and draws attention to more sustainable, circular alternatives. Inrego, a circular IT company that co-founded the initiative alongside other actors in the electronics sector a few years ago, is now taking it further by launching an annual awards ceremony. The goal is to celebrate companies and organizations that have shown leadership and advanced their circular transformation in electronics over the past year.
"The commitment to a circular economy within IT is growing rapidly, and we’re seeing amazing results when companies invest in circular solutions. The Circular Electronics Awards mark the beginning of a new tradition. By rewarding and highlighting the companies that have led the way over the past year, we hope to inspire more to take the leap toward sustainable innovation," says Isabell Millestu, Communications Strategist at Inrego.
The award is presented in two categories: Leader of the Year and Partner of the Year. The nominees have been selected based on three criteria: level of ambition, circular growth in terms of the number of units, and circular growth in percentage terms. The nominated companies demonstrate the breadth of actors investing in circular solutions within IT.
Awards and Circular Knowledge Sharing for the Entire Industry
In conjunction with the ceremony, industry colleagues and other engaged actors are invited to Inrego’s facility to exchange experiences and dive into the critical raw materials found in electronic products. The event includes lunch, exclusive networking opportunities, and a hands-on workshop where participants can disassemble and repair a computer or phone to learn more about the challenges and opportunities of refurbishing IT products.
