Step by Step Guide: Windows 11 Upgrade

News 11 March 2025 4 minutes reading

On October 14, 2025, Microsoft will officially end support for Windows 10. That means upgrading to Windows 11 isn’t just an option - it’s a necessity to keep your systems secure and up to date.

We know IT managers across the country are currently grappling with how to handle this transition. But don’t worry, we’ve got the solution to make the entire process both seamless and sustainable.

At Inrego, we take care of your old computers that don’t meet the upgrade requirements, ensuring they find new life through our extensive global network. In regions where economic conditions differ, priorities shift, and a computer that no longer meets high Nordic standards can still function for years. We sell to resellers worldwide, who then provide these devices to schools, businesses, and organizations that need them most.

Meanwhile, you can upgrade effortlessly with computers from our selection, all prepped and ready for Windows 11.

A Smooth Transition to Windows 11 – in Three Simple Steps:

1. Sell your used computers to us.
Are you replacing computers as part of your upgrade? Make sure the ones you no longer need get a second life. We buy your used computers, pick them up, and securely erase all data. Plus, you get paid!

2. Choose "new" computers with Windows 11.
Every computer in our webshop supports Windows 11 and comes pre-installed with it.

3. Skip the hassle and get everything taken care of.
We handle the entire process for you, from pickup and valuation of your old computers to delivery of "new" ones, fully set up with Windows 11. You get a smooth transition with no business disruptions.

Are Your Computers Already Ready for Windows 11?

Windows 11 has high system requirements, but the truth is, most computers younger than six years can handle the upgrade. If yours are older, it’s time to replace them.

As our Head of Sustainability puts it:
"Your computer would have to be nearly seven years old not to support the update."

That means many devices out there are a few years old but still fully compatible with Windows 11. First, check if your current computers support the update. If upgrading older devices seems unnecessary, sell them to us. Order your refurbished Windows 11-ready computers from our webshop, pre-installed and ready to go.

Want to get this done quickly and hassle-free? We’ve got you covered.

Did You Know This About Windows 10 Security Updates?

Microsoft has announced that it will offer the option to purchase extended security updates for Windows 10 - but only for a limited time. Individuals can buy an extra year of support for $30, while businesses can choose between one, two, or three years at increasing costs (one year: $61 / two years: $122 / three years: $244).

After October 14, 2025, Windows 10 will no longer receive new features, bug fixes, or full technical support. Only critical and important security updates will be available for those who purchase extended support.
