Entrepreneurship and Business Development
Growth and profitability, that’s what it’s all about. Add company culture to that mix, and you’ve got something powerful. IKEA and the entrepreneurial spirit of Småland have always been a source of inspiration for Inrego, but getting there takes time.
In 2019, I gave a presentation in a t-shirt and sneakers: Inrego’s strategic plan. Growth was the focus. We were ready to go full speed ahead.
It didn’t go as planned—but wow, did we learn a lot.
Circular economy is all about using resources wisely. Business development is no different. You have to bet on the right things. And with that, we’re back where we started: you have to think differently, create your own solutions, and be resource-efficient.
In the past, growth and profitability went hand in hand. Today, growth can be pursued without profitability—if you’ve got strong enough investors and a compelling vision of future dominance. Interest rates matter, but conditions shift and markets change. If you want to be resilient in the long run, you need to be able to stand strong in any environment.
A strong company culture creates competitive advantages that are hard to replicate—and often misunderstood. A business is built by the people in it. Excellence is created in the day-to-day: through knowledge, attitude, and action. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, year after year.
Today, Inrego has been operating in a constantly evolving environment for almost 30 years. Or, as we put it in our very first culture statement:
"It’s not the strongest of the species that survive, or the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change." – Charles Darwin
